A Loving Spoonful (alovingspoonful.org) provides free, nutritious meals to individuals and families living with HIV/AIDS in Metro Vancouver. A Loving Spoonful provides an average of 100,000 meals per year to those most vulnerable in our communities. Simply said, we are about food, love, hope and compassionate care. Our wonderful and dedicated volunteers use their own cars, gas and time to ensure those in our community are fed.
A Loving Spoonful continues to provide the highest level of service by bringing healthy, balanced and nutritious meals to individuals and families affected by HIV/AIDS in our communities. Nutritional counseling and meal planning continue to play an important role in sustaining overall better health.
Client care continues to be a priority. Fostering and developing caring and compassionate relationships ultimately means that clients will feel even more comfortable discussing their current needs and circumstances. Reaching out for help can sometimes be difficult and we pride ourselves on being a welcoming and considerate organization.
We continue to collaborate closely with others in our community such as: doctors, dieticians, nurses, case managers and community partners for referrals and client care. We are very proud of our new partnership with Mava Foods located right here in Richmond, BC. The ability to acquire our meals from a local supplier has been incredibly beneficial. On occasion we have received donated items where the food has then been repurposed into soup or other items which can then be distributed.
With approximately only 20% government funding the rest of the funds must be raising through important events like Dining Out for Life!
We sincerely thank you for your support and generosity in making Dining Out For Life BC’s Largest Restaurant Fundraiser!
