Ways to help with Dining Out!!

Please join us as we fight HIV/AIDS by volunteering to serve as an ambassador or a host for Dining Out For Life Portland 2017!

Hosts:
• Usually groups from work (examples could be schools,  law firms,  etc) or social groups
• You will utilize your networks to get your peers to join you at the restaurant you will be dining at,
• You and your group will promote your presence at the restaurant the month prior to Dining Out ( April 27th) to get others excited to go out and support DOL!
• Most of all just have fun!!
• Volunteer training  is optional but is a great way to obtain more detailed information about the event and meet other volunteers.
• If you do not attend the Volunteer training, we will provide you with social media information you can utilize to promote your groups participation in Dining Out for Life.
• You will be invited to attend the DOL celebration in May

Ambassador:
• Individuals or groups.
• As an ambassador you will do all that a host does. The difference is that you will also have the opportunity to interact with patrons at the restaurants.
• You will work with restaurant staff prior to the event to ensure that they have their materials around the restaurant and plan how best to interact with patrons.
• At some restaurants you can seat patrons and at others work with restaurant staff who act as ambassadors to interact with patrons.
• You talk to patrons about the event, inform them of the great giveaway items we have, invite them to donate in the donation envelopes and thank them for their support of the restaurant, Dining Out and critical services for People Living with HIV/AIDS.
• Volunteer Training is critical but if you can’t attend you will get a one-on-one training.
• You will promote to your networks the restaurant you are assigned to.
• You will have access to DOL staff for questions throughout your shift
• You will be invited to attend the DOL celebration in May
