In the heart of greater Jacksonville, a movement is stirring that combines the simple joy of dining with the profound impact of philanthropy. It’s a celebration of good food an even better cause. Northeast Florida AIDS Network (NFAN) is thrilled to invite you to become a part Dining Out For Life® Jacksonville, as we celebrate our 20th anniversary on Thursday, April 24, 2025. The event supports the NFAN Mary H. Lewis Food Pantry and aims to reach new heights in our fight against ending the HIV epidemic.
Dining Out For Life® stands as a beacon of hope, mobilizing over 50 cities in the US and Canada to raise upwards of $4.5 million annually to combat HIV. What’s even more inspiring is that all funds raised through a city’s Dining Out For Life® event stay in that city, providing direct help and hope to people living with HIV.

Dining Out For Life® is a day-long fundraising event on Thursday, April 24, 2025. We invite the community to join us for a meal at participating restaurants and bars supporting those in need in Northeast Florida. By dining out, take-out, or having a dinner delivered, Dining Out For Life® Jacksonville participating restaurants will donate 25% or more of your bill to help fund the NFAN Mary H. Lewis Food Pantry.

The woman who sparked a local change – Mary H. Lewis
Mary’s journey with Northeast Florida AIDS Network (NFAN) began in 1990 when she identified a pressing need and took action. Her initiative led to the establishment of the food pantry at NFAN. Given the strict dosing instructions and harsh side effects of HIV medications, Mary understood the role that nutritional food provided. Mary contacted grocery stores and restaurants and collected food wherever she could help those living with HIV. Today, the Mary H. Lewis Food Pantry remains a beacon of hope and is open to anyone living with HIV, no matter where they receive services.
In 2023, NFAN provided 22,500 meals to 575 unduplicated individuals, a testament to the pantry’s vital role in the community. In the United States, 1 in 6 Americans lack access to adequate healthy foods. Duval County has one of the highest rates of food insecurity in the state at 20.1 percent. * The consequences of food insecurity are profound.
NFAN’s annual event, Dining Out for Life®, relies on generous contributions from partnerships, restaurants, and volunteers to ensure the pantry’s continued mission. The need for your support is urgent.

Northeast Florida AIDS Network (NFAN) is the longest-standing AIDS Service Organization (ASO) in Northeast Florida, established in 1989. Staff and volunteers serve Duval, Clay. St. Johns, and Nassau counties. Our mission is to provide compassionate leadership, services, and advocacy in meeting the prevention, health, spiritual, and social needs of individuals, families, and communities.
