About The Center
The mission of The Center is to promote and empower the LGBT+ community and its allies through information, education, advocacy, and support.
The Center has been serving the Central Florida community since 1978, starting as a crisis hotline for gay men and quickly becoming a health and human services organization in response to the AIDS crisis of the 1980s and 1990s. In 2018, The Center opened a satellite location in Osceola County in the heart of Historic Downtown Kissimmee to reach the increasingly Latin/Hispanic population.
The Center’s services include:
- HIV, Hep C, STI testing and counseling, linkage to care, and non-medical case management.
- Mental Health Counseling, Addiction Recovery, Peer Support and Social groups
- Weekly Senior program
- Youth and Caregiver support
- Rentable venue space
- GED classes and career planning
