Dining Out for
Life – A New Record!
The
generosity of local restaurants, residents and visitors boosted the 8th
annual Dining Out For Life® to a fundraising record. The one day promotion
raised more than $119,500 to support the mission of the Western North
Carolina AIDS Project (WNCAP). A special thanks to all of our 100 restaurants
for generously donating 20% of their sales that day, our sponsors, who allowed
us to just use 6.5% of our funds towards expenses, our tireless 225
Ambassador/volunteers who helped fill the restaurants and over 8000 diners, for
making this year’s total the highest amount of donation funds in our history.
We couldn’t have done it without you!
Accomplishing this in a very challenged economy could not have come at a more
opportune time with reductions in funding from local & federal coffers and a
shortfall from corporate funding , while WNCAP has just taken on 6 new counties
and over 100 clients under their area of support.
The WNCAP
web site stays active all year long, so whenever you and your visitors need a
place to dine, please remember our DOFL restaurants that support us and give
back. And tell them you are there because of their kind generosity.
